Lately I've been having "blah" days. I just don't feel like doing anything.
I think it has to do with all the unsuccessful house hunting we've done.
We've looked at some houses and they've all been a bust (except for one that we made an offer on and lost it to a cash deal.)
It's okay though. That house was obviously not meant for us.
I found one online this morning that looks promising. I left our realtor a message and we're just waiting to hear back from her.
It's in our price range, in the area we were originally looking to live in and it's the size we want.
Once we go through it I just hope it's up to what we can get.
We can only get an FHA loan due to the amount of money we have (or don't have) to put down for a down payment.
We've been working on building our house fund and we're making pretty good progress, it's just still not where we need it to be.
Hopefully we will be able to see it tomorrow or Friday so we can get an idea of if we should look anymore or just relax for a little bit.
Technically our lease is up in August, so we don't have to be out right away but with the baby being due in May we would like to be moved in and settled before he's here.
His room will be the one we (I) concentrate on the most because it needs to be ready before he gets here.
After that things can be done here and there when we have both the time and the money.
Thankfully my parents are buying the crib for us so that's one huge expense we don't have to worry about.
We just have to worry about everything else. Although I suppose that's what baby registries are for.
The one question I have for mamas....
How much is too much to spend on a stroller/car seat combo (or travel system?)
I found one that I really like that's made by Chicco. I saw it in Babies R Us and actually "tested" it out and it's really nice. It's very easy to use and it's lightweight. It's also rated #1 in safety.
Problem being is that it's expensive. I know the saying you get what you pay for and I also know that it's something that will be used all the time for at least 2 maybe more years.
What's your opinion Moms?
How much is too much?
I hope the house prospect turns out well!
ReplyDeleteAs far as price for travel systems...I guess to me it is what you can afford. If it is one that you really like, then maybe choose a lesser priced option of a different item to sort of balance out the cost. You also could put it on your registry (think group gift) and if you don't get it then have a back-up cheaper one that you could get. And yes, if the stroller is a bigger one that will carry a toddler, you will use it for quite a while.
I agree with Sally as well that put one on that you think you would use. And I'm not sure if it's the case for you but if you'll have more than one child you will certainly get your use out of it. Unless you're in an accident when your child is five weeks old and have to get a new one. OH wait, let's pray that doesn't happen. Thankfully insurance covered it anyway :).
