A Good Start [edit]

Today has been a good start to the new year. I can already tell God is working.

I had to go back to the doctor this morning to follow up on my migraines.
[Praise God I haven't had one in months]
I told her that I hadn't had one since before I saw her the first time but I was still keeping track of possible triggers.
I also told her that I have stopped using precautionary measures against getting pregnant.
I told her we weren't necessarily trying to get pregnant, but whatever happens happens.

As she was telling me that she wanted me to follow up in six months, she also told me she wasn't going to be my doctor anymore.

WHAT?!

I love her! However, I love the reason she won't be my doctor anymore more.

She's going to work in Haiti as a doctor in the mission field!

SHE'S A CHRISTIAN!

I can't tell you how absolutely thrilled I was. It's kind of bitter sweet to now find out (after 2 years) of her being my doctor that she's a Christian.

Imagine that.

Honestly, I'm so proud of her for following God's leading. To work in Haiti as a doctor! That's just awesome!

She reassured me that the doctor taking her place is also a Christian which is nice. I will see her in 6 months for my follow up.

God is so good. To provide Christian medical professionals?
Whoda thunk?

Pretty soon I hope to be one. I suppose now you could classify me as a medical professional, but when I get done with school it will be more of a one on one patient care.

Speaking of school. I applied last night and have already been accepted.
I need to call and schedule an appointment with an admissions rep and speak to the people in financial aid.
Truthfully I need all the grants I can get.
[You don't have to pay back grants]

I know that if I am following God's will He will provide anything I need.
["My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus"]

Right now I need to call the school and find out when is a good time to come in to get things set up.
I know I'll have to fill out a ton of forms and find out when the next classes start and make sure I can buy all my books and supplies.
I'll have to buy binders and notebooks and a planner and pens and all kinds of fun school stuff.

I'm excited and nervous but I know things will all work out for His glory.

Time to make a phone call!

***************

I just made the phone call and I will be heading up to the school on Thursday the 5th to meet with financial aid and my admissions rep, Heather.
She told me I would get decreased tuition because I already attended school there and my credits would transfer. I still have to take those classes but I'd not have to pay for them.
Once they get my credits transferred I'll be able to find out what my tuition would be.
I'm really excited to be able to start a new journey this year.

I'm sure it's not going to be easy. I'm definitely expecting challenges. But I will face them and move forward.

  1. That's great that you already heard back! I truly hope that it works out, although we know it will work out in God's plan whether or not it is our plan.
