Birthday Weekend

This year my birthday landed on a Friday, for some reason I'm always happy when my birthday lands on a weekend. I can't really explain why, maybe it's because I know I won't have to work? Who know. I'm not a "clubber" or anything else for that matter. I do like an occasional karaoke night every once in a while though. Anyway, I had to work on my birthday. It wasn't really a big deal to me. I had originally made up a "fake" vacation request where I had requested off Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas, New Years Eve and New Years Day. I said it was fake only because I'm sure I won't end up ever getting all those days off (but it's worth a shot right?) I walked into work to a lovely cake from one of my co-workers. She's such a sweet lady, almost like a second mother to me, and she just happens to live kitty corner from us.

The head pharmacist bought lunch for every one as well. We were all kind of surprised, he's not really the easiest person to get along with. The food was great! It came from a local deli and to my knowledge they usually don't deliver, but they did on Friday!

When I got home from work Brian had my birthday present hidden "in plain sight" as he said. It was true. It was sitting in the doorway of the kitchen and the living room. I actually noticed that as soon as I walked in the door. I mean, it took me a while to find my present....
He got me a bow case so I can safely store my bow when I'm not using it, a blaze orange sweatshirt, some camo boots and a reversible camo to orange hat that's very warm. Can you tell my husband wants me out in the woods with him all the time?
(I kind of forgot/didn't take any pictures of my presents because we have to exchange the boots, they're a little small)

We went to dinner at panera bread and had some good food. We were both pretty tired though so after dinner we came home and relaxed then went to bed. Brian wanted to get to bed kind of early anyway because he was getting up early in the morning to go hunting. I on the other hand had a day full of shopping planned with friends.

We had been talking at work that we should go shopping and wear "Christmas hats" and sing as we were shopping. Seeing as I'm a person who doesn't particularly care what people think about me I was all for it!

My friend Alyssa is a very VERY tiny girl  and she decided she wanted to be Santa. My friend Michelle went as an elf, I was Rudolph and Bethany was just "winter" as it were. She came along at the last minute and had to buy a hat while we were out so she could fit the theme. She ended up getting a top hat  type hat that lit up.
Here we are!:

(I really do have antlers on my head, they're just hard to see)

While we were out an about I found this glass that Michelle just had to pose with.

(It says Santa's little helper)

I ended up getting some really cute Christmas decorations for the coffee table. I wish I could have got more but money is really tight this month.

This was a good, somewhat relaxing, weekend. Tomorrow it's back to the grind....
